O Observat\u00f3rio dos Povos Origin\u00e1rios e suas Inf\u00e2ncias (OPOInf\u00e2ncias), do Centro de Estudos Avan\u00e7ados Multidisciplinares da Universidade de Bras\u00edlia (CEAM\/UnB), foi criado em dezembro de 2022 por uma necessidade da Universidade de Bras\u00edlia trabalhar a tem\u00e1tica dos povos origin\u00e1rios, na qual os ind\u00edgenas pudessem fazer parte de todo o processo de constru\u00e7\u00e3o e an\u00e1lise das pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas, voltadas \u00e0s comunidades ind\u00edgenas. O OPOInf\u00e2ncias \u00e9 um espa\u00e7o para a reflex\u00e3o e den\u00fancia sobre as m\u00faltiplas viol\u00eancias nas quais os povos ind\u00edgenas est\u00e3o sujeitos, e que os impedem de viverem e constru\u00edrem livremente suas subjetividades e cidadania. A vida dos povos ind\u00edgenas no Brasil corre perigo desde 1500, com a chegada dos colonizadores, que nunca deixaram de exercer sua for\u00e7a bruta e domina\u00e7\u00e3o sobre os corpos e as vidas dos ind\u00edgenas ao longo destes 522 anos. Assim, este relato apresenta a hist\u00f3ria da constru\u00e7\u00e3o do OPOInf\u00e2ncias e sua miss\u00e3o para contribuir para a melhoria de vida dos povos ind\u00edgenas no Brasil.<\/p>\n
Abstract
\nThe Observatory of the Native Peoples and their Childhoods (OPOInf\u00e2ncias), of the
\nCenter of Advanced Multidisciplinary Studies (University of Brasilia – CEAM\/UnB),
\nwas established in December 2022, as a demand of the university to address the
\nissues of the native people. The idea was that indigenous people could take part in
\nthe construction and analysis of the public policies targeting them. OPOInf\u00e2ncias
\nis a space to reflect and to report multiple forms of violence these groups face and
\nthat affect their subjectivities and stop them to live their lives freely as citizens. The
\nindigenous peoples in Brazil have been in danger since 1500, with the presence of
\ncolonizers that never ceased to impose their brutal force and domination over their
\nbodies and their lives. This essay presents the history of the construction of the
\nObservatory and its institutional mission to contribute to improve the lives of the
