Entre os povos ind\u00edgenas do \u201cComplexo do Marico\u201d (Maldi 1991), a continuidade ontol\u00f3gica entre corpos e lugares revelada pela morte precisa ser modulada por ritos funer\u00e1rios. Esse controle n\u00e3o est\u00e1 imune ao deslocamento for\u00e7ado, fechamento e depreda\u00e7\u00e3o territorial impostos pelos n\u00e3o ind\u00edgenas. Procedo analisando a codifica\u00e7\u00e3o mitol\u00f3gica entre dist\u00e2ncia e guerra, o problema da morte e do luto em espa\u00e7os perturbados, e o efeito dessa perturba\u00e7\u00e3o sobre entes sobrenaturais. A conex\u00e3o entre esses temas revela a inventividade ind\u00edgena na continuidade da vida, que \u00e9 interpretada por meio da no\u00e7\u00e3o de \u201ccat\u00e1strofe da sobrenatureza\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The present article focuses on mortuary events cross cut by acts of colonization. Based on the complexity created by these intersections, we explore an ethnographic notion of catastrophe. Among the indigenous peoples of the &#8220;Complexo do Marico&#8221; (Maldi 1991), ontological continuity between bodies and places as revealed by death needs to be modulated by funerary rites. This control is not immune to forced displacements, enclosure, and the territorial depredations imposed by non-indigenous peoples. Here, I analyze the mythological codification of distance and war, the problem of death and mourning in disturbed spaces, and the effect of this disturbance on supernatural beings.
