A hist\u00f3ria do povo ind\u00edgena Xukuru do Ororub\u00e1, habitante nos munic\u00edpios de Pesqueira e Po\u00e7\u00e3o, no Semi\u00e1rido pernambucano, \u00e9 marcada por mobiliza\u00e7\u00f5es pela afirma\u00e7\u00e3o, exig\u00eancias de reconhecimento e garantias de direitos desde o in\u00edcio da coloniza\u00e7\u00e3o portuguesa na regi\u00e3o. Nas reflex\u00f5es apresentadas em diferentes situa\u00e7\u00f5es e contextos sociohist\u00f3ricos, ap\u00f3s meados do S\u00e9culo XIX quando o antigo Aldeamento de Cimbres foi oficialmente declarado extinto ocorrendo a legitima\u00e7\u00e3o das invas\u00f5es de fazendeiros e da agroind\u00fastria no S\u00e9culo XX, buscou-se evidenciar as narrativas e registros das continuas reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es dos ind\u00edgenas, o que possibilita compreender os significados dessas mobiliza\u00e7\u00f5es e a import\u00e2ncia para a afirma\u00e7\u00e3o da identidade ind\u00edgena e o reconhecimento do territ\u00f3rio onde habitam.<\/p>\n
The history of the Xukuru of Ororub\u00e1 indigenous people, who inhabit the municipalities of Pesqueira and Po\u00e7\u00e3o, in the semi-arid region of the state of Pernambuco (Brazilian northeast), is marked by mobilizations for affirmation, demands for recognition and guarantees of rights since the beginning of the Portuguese colonization in the region. This article draws a series of reflections considering different situations and socio-historical contexts, specially after the middle of the 19th century when the former Cimbres Village was officially declared extinct and the invasions by farmers and agro-industry in the 20th century were legitimized. We sought to highlight the narratives and records of the continuous claims made by the indigenous people, which makes it possible to understand the meanings of these mobilizations and their importance for the affirmation of indigenous identity and the recognition of the territory where they live.<\/p>\n
